Broens Street Food 2025

About Broens
Street Food

Since 2018, Broens Street Food has been a vibrant hub for food, people, and memorable experiences at the Greenlandic Trading Square. Here, you'll find some of Copenhagen's renowned restaurateurs and passionate chefs serving top-quality street food.

During the summer months, the square buzzes with life, featuring food stalls, events, and guests from near and far. During winter, the space transforms into Broens Skøjtebane – a magical winter wonderland designed to spread light, warmth, and community during the darker months.

THE GREENLANDIC TRADING SQUARE

The Greenland Trading Square, established in 1735 by merchant Andreas Bjørn, has a rich history as a centre for trade and craftsmanship. For over two centuries, the area thrived with shipyards, warehouses, and bustling commerce, dealing in goods ranging from dried fish to whale skins.

Today, the area remains lively. Opened in 2003, North Atlantic House (Nordatlantens Brygge) houses the representations of the Faroe Islands and Greenland, the Icelandic Embassy, and the iconic warehouse from 1761, which was the original home of Noma.

Connected by the Inner Harbour Bridge, Broens Street Food has become a natural gathering spot between Nyhavn and Christianshavn – a place where history and street food blend seamlessly.

STREET FOOD
DISTRICT

Broens Street Food is part of Street Food District, which also includes Seaside Toldboden, Reffen & Werkstatt, and Storms Pakhus. This collective is the culmination of many years of experience in the industry.

Our journey began in 2000 when we took over the management of the National Museum's restaurant, which we operated for 17 years. In 2010, we opened Toldboden at Nordre Toldbod, and in 2014, we created Denmark's first street food market, Copenhagen Street Food on PapirØen. Although the market closed in 2017 due to a temporary lease, it inspired us to establish even more food markets.

Since then, we've opened Storms Pakhus in Odense, Reffen on Refshaleøen, and Broens Street Food in Christianshavn.
